Medidas ante Cargas Erróneas y Mejora del Rendimiento

23.10.2023

Estimados clientes,

Planned Emergency Maintenance: Core Router in AMS-01 Datacenter

02.11.2021

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve service quality, we would like to inform you of an upcoming emergency maintenance scheduled for November 4, 2021.

During this maintenance, a high storage utilization issue on the backup routing engine of one of our core routers in the AMS-01 datacenter in the Netherlands will be addressed.

When will the maintenance take place?

Date: November 4, 2021
Time: 01:00 AM to 06:00 AM (UTC+01:00)

Once maintenance is completed, our network will be closely monitored to ensure that all systems run as expected, stable and reliably.

Thank you for your understanding.

Changes to Pay-Per-Download Remuneration

18.02.2021

Dear Users,

Due to the heavy abuse of our free Pay-Per-Download program, we are unfortunately forced to switch to a pure Premium Pay-Per-Download model starting Friday, February 19, 2021.

This means that only downloads from Premium users will be remunerated. Free downloads will no longer be counted. This change is necessary due to the significant increase in bot traffic, which some affiliate users have been using to generate income. In order to offset the associated costs, this action is unavoidable.

Additionally, the Pay-Per-Sale remuneration model will be adjusted in the coming week. From now on, sales through VPN will be correctly recorded and not counted as fraudulent attempts. This will increase the chances of earning higher and fairer income through the Pay-Per-Sale model.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Minimum Withdrawal Temporarily Increased to 50 EUR

17.02.2021

Due to the currently high transaction fees in the Bitcoin network, the previous minimum withdrawal of 10 EUR has been raised to 50 EUR. This measure is temporary and has been necessary as around 90% of our payouts are processed through Bitcoin partners.

We are working with larger payment networks to process payouts efficiently and reliably. Transaction fees of 3 to 5 EUR per transaction apply, in addition to the Bitcoin network fees, which we have often covered ourselves until now.

Due to the significantly increased overall costs, we are forced to make this adjustment to avoid disproportionate burdens.

We thank you for your understanding and will inform you as soon as it is possible to return to the previous payout threshold.

Speed Issues in December 2020

18.12.2020

Dear Users,

The ongoing COVID-19 situation has also posed significant challenges for us this year. In March and April, we experienced massive disruptions in our network – and now again in December 2020, due to new lockdown measures in several countries.

To maintain the stability of our cluster, the maximum download speed per file has been deliberately limited for now. The goal is to ensure the most even and reliable availability for all users.

Some servers are still operating at their maximum capacity, as an exceptionally high number of simultaneous accesses are occurring.

We ask for your understanding and hope to continue counting you among our satisfied customers.

If you wish to request a refund due to the current limitations, please feel free to create a support ticket through our system.

Maintenance on NL2 Network

24.09.2020

Dear Users,

On Monday, September 28, 2020, scheduled maintenance will be performed on our NL2 network in the morning hours (local time Amsterdam, UTC+2).

During this time, there may be restricted availability of the website or temporary outages.

Once the maintenance is complete, the website will be fully available again as usual.

Thank you for your understanding.

Maintenance on GLNL/2 Network

15.09.2020

On September 15, 2020, urgent and short-term maintenance is scheduled on the GLNL/2 network. During this time, temporary service disruptions may occur.

The affected services are primarily in the UCDN network in the server range www500 to www550. There may be reduced download speeds or brief performance degradation.

We will strive to complete the work as quickly and smoothly as possible, and thank you for your understanding during this time.

Switch to Euro Currency

16.07.2020

Dear DDownload Users,

After extensive economic considerations, two months of testing, and internal discussions within the entire Unlimited Network Limited team, we have decided to switch our pricing structure from US dollars to Euros.

Why was this decision made?

The change is based on numerous feedbacks and inquiries regarding payment options, withdrawals, and for economic and infrastructural reasons.

A part of our infrastructure – currently about 40% – is historically more connected with Asian networks. Therefore, there are occasional connection quality issues in Europe, especially in Germany. Our service has been operating for over four years and was originally designed and expanded in the Asian region. Until the first quarter of last year, around 70% of our users came from Asia. Accordingly, the focus of our investments was initially in this region.

However, with the significant increase in users from Europe at the end of 2019, the picture changed significantly. The European user base grew by almost 70%, necessitating extensive infrastructure upgrades.

Although we have been continuously investing since then, the infrastructure of DDownload is still not fully aligned with European requirements. To implement this expansion sustainably, switching to the Euro currency was a necessary step. Due to the small exchange rate differences between the Euro and the US Dollar, the price change is only moderate.

This decision allows us to expand our infrastructure strategically and provide you with reliable and high-performance service in the long term.

What changes for withdrawals?

Your withdrawals will still be processed in cryptocurrencies. With the currency change, you will also benefit from a slight increase in your earnings. The current withdrawal amounts already include a small uplift due to the conversion.

If you encounter technical issues such as server outages or fluctuations in download speeds, we recommend first visiting our support center at support.ddownload.com before creating a ticket. There, we usually communicate all current technical disruptions.

We thank you for your support and look forward to continuing our successful cooperation.

Urgent Maintenance on the GLNL Network

27.06.2020

During calendar weeks 27 and 28, urgent maintenance will take place on the GLNL Network. During this period, there may be occasional limitations in speed.

Users from Germany are particularly requested to avoid usage during peak times and to be understanding of possible limitations. In case of significant problems, please contact us through the known contact channels.

The maintenance work is necessary to improve the general performance for uploads and downloads in the long term. We have received increasing reports of upload issues related to this network.

Please note that our GLNL network does not have direct contracts with Deutsche Telekom or other network providers in Germany. Therefore, temporary restrictions may occur in Germany. Users from other countries are not affected.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Planned Maintenance on the GLNL Network

18.06.2020

On Thursday, **18th June 2020**, important maintenance will take place on our storage server in the data center in Amsterdam (Netherlands).

As part of this work, the hardware will be partially replaced and expanded to improve the performance and stability of our services.

During the maintenance, there may be short-term disruptions. We expect interruptions of no more than about one hour. Should there be any specific outages, we will inform you immediately.

Some services may be temporarily unavailable for a period of about 1 to 2 hours during the afternoon.

Thank you for your understanding during these planned optimization measures.

Notice Regarding the COVID-19 Situation

20.03.2020

As indicated on our external support page, it is currently not possible to create or answer support tickets. This is due to the state of emergency declared in Lithuania as part of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Working from home is currently not feasible for our support team, as all employees in this area were temporarily working as guest workers in Lithuania. Due to current regulations, they had to return to their home countries within a week.

Since our support infrastructure is fully tied to the location, we are unable to offer external support in the usual form at the moment.

In urgent cases, it is still possible to contact us via the contact form in the Impressum.

We sincerely thank you for your understanding during this exceptional situation.

Connection Issues with CDN102 and CDN112

15.03.2020

Currently, there are connection issues with the servers www102 and www112 within our network.

Our technical team is already working hard on a solution to restore full accessibility as soon as possible.

We thank you for your understanding and patience.

Current Limitations in Connection and Speed

08.03.2020

Currently, there are technical problems with our new network. As only about 50% of the new hardware has been delivered, the full implementation is delayed. The remaining components are expected to arrive in several weeks.

Temporarily, the old network has been reactivated. This may cause connection issues, especially for users in Germany. However, this measure is only temporary until the new hardware is fully available.

We plan to put the new network with expanded hardware into operation this week and will keep you updated on all progress.

In the past few days, we have received a very high number of support requests. It has been found that over 80% of these requests were not necessarily required. To ensure the processing of all incoming tickets, our support system is temporarily in maintenance mode.

We sincerely thank you for your loyalty and understanding and apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Switching Service Providers

22.01.2020

To meet the needs of our users, we have decided to change the service provider. In the coming weeks, we will begin setting up the first new servers. The goal is to noticeably improve download speeds and offer even more stable performance.

Why are slow download speeds occurring?

This problem does not affect all users, but only about a quarter of our premium users. The cause is the lack of connection to certain carrier networks in some countries or regions. A typical example is Deutsche Telekom, whose peering network incurs significantly higher costs – up to eight times more than other providers.

Our current provider has decided not to use these expensive connections for economic reasons, which leads to performance issues in certain cases.

We are pleased to announce that a new provider has already been found, who will resolve this issue in the future. The transition will be gradual.

We thank you for your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience during the transition.

CDN59 – Connection Interruptions and Slow Loading Times

20.01.2020

Currently, there are connection interruptions and technical limitations with server cdn59. This leads to delayed downloads or downloads being performed at reduced speed (between 20 and 50 kilobytes per second).

Our team is working hard on a solution to restore full functionality as soon as possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Help with Testing Bandwidth Requested

14.01.2020

To optimize our new server infrastructure, we kindly ask for your help with bandwidth tests. Please share in the comments what download speeds you are reaching, from which location you are testing, and what internet connection (bandwidth) you are using.

First insights from the tests:

Most measured download speeds are satisfactory. However, it was found that on weekdays over a period of 1–3 hours and on weekends, there were noticeably lower performance levels from our internet provider.

The situation is being closely monitored. If no improvement is seen, we will check if switching to an alternative provider is necessary.

Thank you for your cooperation and feedback!

Possible Temporary Limitations in Accessibility

15.12.2019

Maintenance work on our databases is scheduled for this week. To avoid data loss, the website will be temporarily put into maintenance mode for a few hours in calendar week 51.

We thank you for your understanding and patience during these planned measures.

Additionally, in calendar week 51, an expansion of the available network bandwidth per rack is planned. The goal is to further optimize download speed, especially during peak times – and this time without any downtime.

Thank you for your continued support and fast connections!

Paysafecard and PayPal as Direct Payment Methods

20.11.2019

In recent weeks, we have received numerous inquiries about additional payment methods. We are pleased to announce that these suggestions have been taken into account and incorporated into further development.

Credit card payments have already been introduced as a direct payment method this week. Soon, Paysafecard and PayPal will also be available as direct payment options.

The exact fees are not yet finalized. However, it can already be assured that external resellers for Paysafecard and PayPal will no longer be required in the future. Official distribution partners will of course continue to exist.

Further progress will be continuously communicated. Thank you for your patience and trust.

Announcement: Planned Maintenance on DDL

27.10.2019

Some users have already noticed: Certain premium servers are currently reaching their maximum capacity. To continue ensuring smooth downloads, the server infrastructure will be expanded accordingly.

The following improvements are planned:

  • New promo banners will be available soon.
  • A completely redesigned DDL is coming soon.
  • Additional servers will be provided.
  • The Pay-Per-Sale program will be further expanded.
  • Additional payment options will be added.

Support is always available by email. You can usually expect a reply within 24 hours, but no later than 48 hours.

We will keep you updated on the current status of the developments.
